At the premiere of Pellegrini's: A Melbourne Legacy at the iconic Astor Theatre, the story of the 71-year-old espresso bar unfolded as a powerful tribute to its history, cultural imprint and the spirit of former co-owner Sisto Malaspina.

Sisto once said before meeting with tragedy in 2018 that "I don't see this as a commercial business. I see it as an extension of my soul."

Joined by the filmmakers, Malaspina family and friends, the event honoured memory, community and Sisto's love language of food and hospitality, reminding us that some places are living legacies passed on from one generation to the next.
