Some evenings are designed not simply to be attended, but to be savoured.
Entrecôte Melbourne's Bastille Day Soirée transformed La Fête Nationale into a celebration of French gastronomy, hospitality and conviviality, where every course reflected the traditions and craftsmanship that have shaped French dining for generations.
The specially curated menu offered a journey through classic French flavours. To begin with were warm Gruyère gougères and smoked eel rillettes, followed by a delicate Saint-Jacques tarte fine of torched scallop, leek and Pernod with blood orange and sauce Maltaise. The centrepiece was a perfectly cooked Filet de Bœuf Bordelaise Truffe, accompanied by pomme purée, Bordelaise sauce and generous shavings of Oak Hill truffle, served alongside Haricots Verts Amandine. Dessert was a beautifully executed Paris-Brest, filled with hazelnut praline cream and chocolate crémeux.
Beyond the menu, the soirée was a celebration of atmosphere. Champagne, live entertainment and the unmistakable spirit of Bastille Day brought the dining room to life, creating an experience that honoured the French art of living as much as the cuisine itself.
The accompanying film captures the spirit of the evening, preserving not only the dishes that were served, but the ambience, elegance and festivity that made Entrecôte's Bastille Day Soirée such a memorable occasion.
