This year's Australian Open hit different.

As Melbourne settled into its summer rhythm and the tournament unfolded, the tennis season began not on the court, but across the city.

Ovolo Hotels South Yarra served Game On, a night that brought together sport, hospitality and Melbourne's unmistakable culture. DJs, drinks and a room alive with conversation as the Australian Open moved into full swing.

Timed to intersect with the first week, the event welcomed international players Lorenzo Musetti, Rinky Hijikata, Thanasi Kokkinakis and Karen Khachanov ahead of the long matches, late evenings and defining moments that shaped the fortnight.

For the food and lifestyle community, moments like this were a reminder that the Australian Open extended far beyond Melbourne Park. It showed up in dining areas, bars and social spaces setting the pace for a time where tennis met warm-weather living.
